Following last year’s competition, which was won by “Paulo’s Omelettes” (Emma Smith, Stuart Blackmore, Steve Lawler, Zoe Flockhart, Mark Ebdon and Chris Palfrey) we will once again be running a Skittles Tournament for the Trophy donated by Colin’s family.

The tournament will be open to teams of 6 players and will take place over the course of a single evening. Teams can be made up of anyone who has been involved, in any capacity, with Feniton Football Club, at any time past or present.

Each team will bowl a number of legs in turn and the team with the highest aggregate score at the end of the evening will be awarded the Colin Bishop Memorial Trophy.  The number of legs to be bowled by each team will be decided on the night depending on the number of teams entering.

This year’s tournament will be held on SATURDAY 27th JUNE.  The start time will be decided once the number of teams entering has been established.  An entry fee of £12 per team (£2 per player) will be paid on the night.  All money raised will be donated to Colin’s family’s chosen charity The Exeter Leukaemia Fund (ELF).

Although the trophy has serious connotations it is intended that the annual tournament is a social and fun occasion just as Colin would have wanted.   Participants do not have to be regular skittlers.  It is a simple and fun game to play with no pressure on any individual to score highly.

If you are unable to raise a team of 6 but would like to take part please let us know and we will endeavour to accommodate you.  Please get involved if you can.  It is for a good cause and will be a lot of fun.

Andy has kindly arranged for a barrel of lager to be available on the night, to be sold at £2.00 a pint, with all proceeds going to the charity.

Please not that this year’s tournament will coincide with the Football Club Sponsors Night, when sponsors and advertisers will be invited along to the Club in order that we can show our appreciation for their support.  Those attending will be invited to join in with the skittles if they wish to.
