The second match was played at Rangers ground on Sunday 22nd August. Another change in Feniton goalkeepers saw Stefi Mathews in goal for the 1st 45 minutes, she later took her position as center forward in the second half, again Debbie Slee took over at half time.

The scores were level at the interval with Feniton playing some lovely football with the likes oF Amy, Stefi, Emily and Nat all linking up in a full pitch move that lead to a chance for Shannon which unfortunately she put wide. Feniton defence with Nick, Denise , Emma and Amy all played well and the midfield of Nat, Emily, Stefi and Laura were able to create chances for the two strikers Debbie and Shannon. Unfortunately Anne could not play in this match due to a 'chest' infection.

The second half saw more Feniton as an attacking force, however they could not turn their approach play into goals and it took an exeptional header from Stefi Dowell to open the scring. After 65 minutes Feniton welcomed back into the playing squad Lil Dixon, the experiance defender having missed the opening games due to holiday and sickness, Amy making way. In a mix up in defence Feniton allowed the Rangers centre forward to nip in and slid the vall under the advancing goalkeeper to make the final score 1-1.

Again another valuable game and confidence booster for Feniton ladies. They open the league season at home on 5th September K.O 23PM against a new team in the Devon League LFC Sparta from Newton Abbot area.

Feniton's 1st outing at Acland Park saw them run out comfortable winners against a talented Exiles side 3-0.

Feniton gave starts to Amy Sanders and Nat Mathews and Shannon Toogood with Captain Emily Horman playing the first 45 minutes in goal.

Feniton stated the stronger of the two teams and playing uphill first half were able to play some attractive football without getting the final pass or cross into the visitors penalty area.

On several occasions in the first 20 minutes Feniton looked as if they would open the scoring with both Stef Mathews and Shannon Toogood missing early chances.

It was on 23 minutes that Shannon opened the scoring with a well worked goal up the left side with Amy, Stef and Stefi Dowell all involved then the final ball into the box saw Shannon one on one with the keeper and she kept her calm to put the ball into the far side of the visitors net.

After that Feniton grew more confident and started to pass the ball around very well on a hard surface. Many chances cam and went for Feniton, while the visitors attacks were kept well in check by Anne Nelson, Nicky Spence, Nat Mathews and Amy Sanders.

08/08/10 SEATON TOWN 0 - 9 FENITON LADIES (FRIENDLY)

Feniton's 1st friendly kick started the 2010/11 season, playing away to Seaton Town, a new team to the Ladies league. It was an exciting game for the large home supporters with plenty of goals, free kicks and two penalties. It began with the Feniton side, pressing forward the Seaton keeper doing well to keep out the attempts on goal. Then Feniton's Chloe Lock scored her first goal of the season set up by Emily Horman. Soon after Stef Matthews scored two goals, the first set up by Chloe lock and the second by Tori Churchill. Feniton consistently pressed the Seaton Town back four and eventually breaking through for Lauren Strut to score the fourth goal of the game. Seaton fought back and made a break for goal, which was saved by one of Fenton's Goalies Debbie Slee. This attempt only spurred Feniton on to score a further two goals before half time. The first goal scored, earned Stef Matthews her first hatrick and was enough to make sure she won player of the match. The hatrick goal was set up from an epic run up the left wing by Debbie Slee who had changed from her goalkeeping duties to play outfield. There was still time left for Lauren Strutt to score her second goal.

The second half kicked off with Seaton pressing the Feniton defence but were foiled by our two Centre backs, Nicky Spence and Denise Palfrey. Feniton's two centre backs communicated well and kept the Seaton threat under control. This meant both Claire Eveleigh and Emma Smith, Feniton's fall backs could push forward to support the wingers on their runs. A cunning substitution to bring Chloe Lock back on, led in Feniton's 7th goal scored by Emily Horman. Chloe Lock then went on to score her second goal set up by Tori Churchill. Feniton's final goal was scored by part time goalie Debbie Slee who received a pass from Stef Matthews who made a 20 yard lob of Seaton's keeper.

From the Seaton Town kick off, they passed the ball forward into the 18 yard box, with Feniton's stand in 'keeper' on her line Debbie Slee had no option but to tackle Seaton's forward, resulting in a penalty. Seaton's forward stepped up to take the spot kick only to see Feniton's stand in 'keeper' Laurren Strutt dive to her left to save the shot and send the ball out to the right were it fell kindly for a Seaton player. In an attempt to clear the danger Feniton's Steffie Dowle charged down the ball resulting in another penalty. Even the crowd astonished however the second penalty kick was again saved by Laurren and the danger was cleared.

Feniton were pleased to put their first friendly of the season under their belt and come out with a 9-0 win. It was a friendly game and would say the team felt very welcome with a supportive reception of this newly formed club and supporters. Feniton look forward to their match next week against Emerald Exiles at home.
